This year, Behaviorally joined over 100+ companies globally in the Workplace Veganuary Challenge. Beginning on January 1, we encouraged our team members to try being vegan for the whole month (or even for a few days a week) for our health and planet. Plant-based diets have been linked to lower cholesterol levels, increased energy levels, lower blood pressure, and numerous other health benefits. Tied to our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals, a plant-based diet is one of the most environmentally friendly diets. Based on the Veganuary site, “One person eating a vegan diet for a month will save 32,995 gallons of water, 904 square feet of forest, and 601 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions (better than giving up a car for a month!).” A vegan diet is fully based on planets and foods made from plants. The diet does not include any foods that come from animals, which also includes dairy, eggs, honey, and other similar ingredients.
Having taken part in the challenge, it has been wonderful to see the number of vegan products that are available now. Here are 8 vegan products that truly stand out on the physical and digital shelf:
Chocolate brand, Endangered Species Chocolate, makes gourmet, ethically sourced chocolate bars that are also vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. The packaging features illustrations of the endangered animal species that the brand supports with a portion of its proceeds.
